Course Overview
This two day instructor-led course is a lab intensive course designed to enable students to successfully deploy their Aruba wireless solution in an outdoor environment. Completing this class prepares the network designer for the unique requirements of an outdoor deployment. Building on their knowledge of ArubaOS, students learn proper methods to plan, configure, and deploy a WLAN outdoors. The class combines instructor presentation, class discussion and hands-on labs. Students will work through a design, configure a solution and have an opportunity to troubleshoot an Aruba outdoor deployment.
Who should attend?
Systems Administrators and WLAN Managers responsible for Aruba Networks support, design and administration in an outdoor configuration.
Prerequisites
Students signing up for this class should have completed the Aruba Advanced Design and Operations course.
Course Contents
- RF Concepts, including transmitter, receiver, antenna, Isotropic Radiator, Intentional Radiator and Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP)
- RF Characteristics, including polarity, wavelength, frequency, amplitude and phase
- RF Behavior, including wave propagation, absorption, deflection, scattering, refraction, diffraction, attenuation, amplification, and free space path loss.
- Antennas, including radiation principles, 2D and 3D patterns, beamwidth, omni-directional, highly-directional, antenna diversity and line-of-site/Fresnel zones.
- Bridging, including link planning and guidelines, range testing information, bridging calculator and common problems and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on configuration of wireless backhauled network, point-to-point
LAN bridge, point-to-multipoint LAN Bridge, and high-availability LAN
bridge.
