End of Life Policy

Software End of Life Process Description

Patch and Hotfix releases are supported only until the next Maintenance release within a specific Major or Minor release.

Major or Minor releases for ArubaOS and AWMS are supported for eighteen (18) months from the initial release date. After this time, software reaches the End of Development (EOD) milestone in the product life cycle and Aruba’s Product Development and Engineering organizations cease active development and support of that software release. Aruba does not create or make available maintenance releases or patches for software that has reached the EOD milestone. Six (6) months after the End of Development milestone, the software reaches the End of Support (EOST) milestone.

During the period between End of Development and End of Support, Aruba Customer Advocacy will continue to investigate, troubleshoot, and characterize issues in an attempt to provide solutions and workarounds using the production releases. If a solution cannot be found using software that has reached the EOD milestone, Aruba Customer Advocacy will require that the system be updated with a more recent software release. After a software release reaches the EOST milestone, the software image will be removed from the Aruba support website, and Aruba Customer Advocacy will provide support only on a commercially reasonable effort basis.

Legacy software may be subject to different support milestones and the process may vary in cases where differing obligations exist. Refer to specific agreements and to specific software EOL notifications for more information.

Hardware EOL Process Description

Aruba Networks may find it necessary to discontinue products for a number of reasons, including product line enhancements, upgrades and offering customers the same quality/higher performance products at the same or lower price or when key components are no longer available. When a product reaches its end of life (EOL), we are committed to communicating important milestones throughout the EOL period, including the initial EOL notification, End of Sale (EOS) for product, End of Support (EOST) milestone dates, as well as other key information pertaining to Aruba Networks hardware products.

Any products being discontinued will be announced as End of Sale and identified as such on the price list for up to six calendar months prior to the discontinuation and end of sale date also known as the last order date. On the end of sale date, discontinued products are removed from the price list and are no longer available for purchase. Support for discontinued products will only be provided to customers who purchased a maintenance contract, or converted their new product warranty coverage to a maintenance contract prior to the expiration of the standard warranty. If the discontinued product is not available for replacement or repair during the final year of the EOST period, Aruba reserves the right to satisfy the support requirement by replacing the discontinued product with functionally equivalent hardware.
